SMAQ is a Berlin-based studio for architecture, urbanism and research founded by Sabine Müller and Andreas Quednau. Sabine Müller taught at the University of Delft, was assistant professor at the University of Karlsruhe and visiting critic at Cornell University. Andreas Quednau is Professor at the Stuttgart State Academy for Art and Design. SMAQ has conducted masterplans for the Magdeburg harbour (Germany), Grorud Centre (Oslo) and Burgos (Spain) and has received an AR Award for their public bath (Stuttgart) and the Holcim Award for Sustainable Construction for their masterplan Xeritown (Dubai). Their speculative project X-Palm was recently published as “Charter of Dubai” as a book.
